Tokes sits down on Seat 1 and Rufus sits next to him. The other guests see the giant bear and smile. Even the dealer cracks a grin. But the floor supervisor is not amused as he comes over.

Tokes turns to Rufus and nods. Rufus reaches into the vest he is wearing and slides a card across the table. The card explains that Rufus is a service animal and his appearance in the facilities is completely legal and allowed. Tokes slides his Casino Club Card next to it.
Floor: My apologies sir. I did not realize he was a service animal.
Tokes: Not a problem friend. I applied for it officially after returning to LLR post Mania. Rufus is my emotional support bear. He helps to limit the amount of times I... go to that dark place and become the Chaos King again. Piledriving men women and children into the concrete. THINK OF THE CARNAGE! Solo money making guide for new and well set players.

I've got this cool solo money making guide I tried and tested.

What businesses you'll need.
Recommended locations (For players who don't have the businesses yet).
If you already own the businesses and properties then you don't have to change from your current locations, except maybe moving your MC Businesses to Sandy Shores if it's in Paleto Bay or Elysian Islands/Terminal and moving your Bunker to Chumash or Farmhouse. This is mainly for players who are looking to buy those properties and businesses.
Note: This is my personal opinion. If you think there's another better location or disagree, then let me know why that's better.
If you already have multiple Special cargo small, medium or large warehouses then stick with the ones you have.
Vehicles you'll need.
1. Buzzard.
2. Bati 801RR.
3. Oppressor MK II (Optional).
4. Cargobob (Optional).
6. Post Op vans (Optional).

The main money making guide tips and steps.

I recommend doing the steps in a solo public session.
This is not only to avoid griefers and tryhards but this guide may spread to the popular GTA online money grinding youtubers such as TheProfessional, Tylerious or maybe even Ghilliemaster and this guide may get very popular that more players will be doing this guide so most likely someone else will be doing a Terrorbyte mission, Sightseer, Headhunter or any other VIP work. See GTA Online Mega Guide thread on how to go in a solo public lobby. Or you can just keep finding a new session until you're in a solo public lobby or in a session your happy with full of friendly players who don't do Terrorbyte client missions, Sightseer and Headhunter. If you want to do the Casino Heist or other jobs then set your MTU back to 1500 otherwise you can't join a heist or other activities with low MTU.
Get the Arcade with the Master Control Terminal.
The Master Control Terminal allows you to buy supplies in one building instead of having to fly to different businesses to resupply. However sell product from the actual businesses location because if you sell from the Master Control Terminal then you'll have to drive or fly to that business to begin selling which could cost valuable time.
Before you start the steps. (If you have a Nightclub).
If you have a nightclub and five technicians then put them on Cargo/Shipments (Hanger), Sporting goods (Bunker), South American imports (Cocaine), Pharmaceuticals (Meth) and Cash Creation (Counterfeit cash). Once Pharmaceuticals and Cash Creation is full then move those technicians to Organic Produce (Weed) and Printing and Copying (Document Forgery). Ignore this part if you don't have a nightclub.
Business battles (Optional).
If your in a lobby with three other players and a business battle starts. You can collect the crate or vehicle with the crates. Once you finished, delivering the product to your nightclub then continue what your doing.
Make sure your nightclub popularity is full. (Optional)
You can make a small profit with the nightclub safe. At any time in the steps if your nightclub popularity is full in the pre step and the the game tells you your safe is $20,000 just go back to your nightclub and book another DJ to make the nightclub popularity full again and wait until the game tells you have $40,000 and re-book another Dj and keep grinding until you reach $60,000. If it reaches $70,000 collect the money straight away and wait until the game tells you, that you have $10,000 in the safe and re-book another DJ and keep repeating this process. Make sure to change DJs every 90 minutes to avoid losing popularity.

If you have a Terrorbyte.
Spawn it and start up Import/Export source vehicle or Special cargo missions since it's faster to go in rather than going all the way to your CEO office or Master Control Terminal depending where you are on the map.
Always do Headhunter in Los Santos.
The targets are more closer in Los Santos. Blaine County targets are more spread out so it'll take longer to do it there. Make sure your completely in Los Santos since even starting Headhunter in Vinewood Hills, you'll still get Blaine County targets.
Play in free aim lobbies.
The chances of being attacked or griefed by a tryhard is slightly lower than in auto aim. But they are still plenty of them, just not as much as auto aim. Your more likely to get placed in a peaceful lobby and if you do get attacked by a tryhard or griefer then find a new session since they're just wasting your time and to also protect your cargo since you only lose a little bit when you find a new session or close the application.
Also there's less players on free aim than auto aim so your more likely to find a lobby with less players.
PC only, If you see a modder or a cheater in your session.
Find a new session immediately since they may try to give you cheated money and get you falsely banned. They may also try to grief you with the use of mods.
If nightclub safe is full at $70,000.
Make sure to collect the money ASAP so more money can be stored in the safe.
If your flying a Buzzard or any vehicles or aircraft with homing missiles around in a peaceful lobby.
Make sure to use the homing missiles only when you need to use them such as killing enemy NPCs or Headhunter targets. One you finished using them then switch to the machine guns or non homing mode or the barrage missiles (if your in a Hunter) until you need to use the homing missiles again. This is to stop scaring other players who are in another aircraft or in a vehicle on the ground and it's also to prevent accidental firing of the homing rocket that's locked on to friendly players.
Terrorbyte client missions are quick and easy.
Finishing Targeted Data, Diamond Shopping and Robbery in Progress gets you an easy $31,000 in just 3-4 minutes of work. You'll need a drone station to do Targeted data though.
Stealing supplies is NOT worth it anymore if your Bunker and MC Businesses have full upgrades.
Steal missions take too long to do and it can take up to two or three hours to fill all your businesses. You can do the pre step and step 2 to easily pay off your supplies investment and even make some more money in the two and a half hours period before the businesses and Bunker stops producing due to lack of supplies. Good thing about this Casino heist DLC is that they include the Master Control Terminal where you can buy supplies for your businesses in one place instead of having to drive or fly to different locations.
The only time where I recommend stealing the supplies is when you don't have the upgrades yet on your Bunker or MC Businesses.
If you have an associate in your CEO.
If you have friends or a random person in your CEO, after you finished a Terrorbyte mission, do Point to point and share the money for an extra $5,250. Your associate can get paid well and still have fun grinding. Also if your in an MC then promote your friend or associate to Road Captain so they can use the non weaponized Buzzard or Havok (if they own one).
Don't waste money on junk.
One of the main reasons why players go broke and resort to buying Shark cards or give up on the game altogether. You don't need to own everything in the game and get a Deluxo or the latest supercar just because your friends and "everyone" has one. The clothes you only need are heavy heist vests for classic heists, quad lens helmets and scuba outfit. Supercars are only good for driving around the map and for races but not for missions. You can get around the map faster with a Buzzard. If your gonna buy a super car then buy the one that tops Broughy1322's tests.
The steps below are assuming you have the full day off from school or work and want to grind all day.
Note: The main steps are only if you have the CEO Office, Vehicle Warehouse, Bunker (Fully upgraded), MC Clubhouse, MC Businesses (Coke, Meth and Cash all fully upgraded), Nightclub, Terrorbyte and Arcade with Master Control Terminal. Also the tips below the steps are from my experience of grinding and selling cargo.

Pre step: Buy supplies for your Bunker and MC Businesses.

Make sure they're empty so sell whatever you have before buying supplies. Also set spawn location in the Arcade.
  1. Buy Supplies for your Coke, Meth, Cash and Bunker using the Master Control Terminal in the Arcade.

Step 1: Import/Export method (Best time to money ratio).

  1. Source vehicle.
  2. Sell vehicle.
  3. Do Terrorbyte mission.
  4. Source a vehicle.
  5. Do Terrorbyte mission.
  6. Do Headhunter.
  7. Sell vehicle.
  8. Do Terrorbyte mission.
  9. Source vehicle.
  10. Do Terrorbyte mission.
  11. Do Headhunter.
  12. Sell vehicle.
  13. Do Terrorbyte mission.
  14. Repeat 8-13 or move to step 2.
Import/Export sell tips.
Tips for vehicle sourcing missions, read this thread.

Step 2: Special cargo method. (Optional)

Special cargo method with a warehouse. It's only if you want to mix things up a bit since doing the same I/E method over again can be efficient but boring.
  1. Steal three crates.
  2. Do Terrorbyte mission.
  3. Steal three crates.
  4. Do Terrorbyte mission.
  5. Steal another three crates. You should have nine after you delivered those crates.
  6. Do Terrorbyte mission.
  7. Do one cycle of the I/E method above. (Do 1-5 on the Step 2: Import/Export method).
  8. Sell crates or continue filling up the warehouse.
  9. Repeat 1-8.
  10. (Optional) If continuing filling up the warehouse, repeat 1-9. (You don't have to do the cycle again but it's up to you if you want to)
  11. Sell the crates.
  12. Do Terrorbyte mission.
After finishing a source mission.
If you go the vehicle mission then do Headhunter then do a Terrorbyte mission. If you get vehicle missions back to back and Headhunter's still cooling down then simply do a Terrorbyte mission and source another three crates. If you got a three crate pickup mission, then just do a Terrorbyte mission and source another crate after.

Step 3: Selling the Bunker and MC Product.

This is a solo method on how to do MC Businesses and Bunker 100% solo.
Sourcing and selling top range cars after selling the MC product and disbanding MC and registering as CEO.Read before doing step 3.
Step 3.
  1. Sell Coke.
  2. Disband MC and register as CEO and steal a top range vehicle and sell straight away.
  3. Sell Meth.
  4. Steal top range vehicle and sell.
  5. Sell Cash.
  6. Steal top range car and sell.
  7. Sell the Bunker.
  8. Steal top range car and sell.
Fast step 3 (If your short on time and need to do something else).
  1. Sell Coke.
  2. Sell Meth.
  3. Sell Cash.
  4. Sell Bunker.
What you'll get when buying one batch of supplies for you Bunker and MC Businesses (Coke, Meth and Cash).
Note: This is with the Equipment and Staff upgrades.
Bunker and MC Business sell tips.

Solo Post OP van tips.
I Know people give up on the MC Businesses all because of the Post OP aka Slow OP vans and I can understand why since the vans are very slow and the drops are far apart but reading this will give you confidence to do the MC Businesses again.
This Post OP Van tips are based off having the Sandy Shores/Grand Senora Desert MC Businesses.

Step 4 (Optional): Continue doing the step 1 I/E cycle or Step 2 Crates cycle.

If you don't want to do this part for whatever reason then skip to step 5.

Step 5: Selling the Nightclub.

Once you finish doing Step 3 or Step 4 then it's time to sell the Nightclub.
  1. Sell all the product via the special orders for a bonus if there is no special orders then sell all.
  2. Source and sell top range Import/Export vehicle.
  3. Do Terrorbyte mission.
  4. Do Headhunter.
  5. If there's money in both the Arcade and Nightclub safe, just collect it, also go to the Casino and spin the wheel.
  6. Wait for the game to auto save and you should be done for the day.

Alternative steps.

Simple method. (For players who don't have lots of time to play but still want to do the steps). Step 2 is not needed.
  1. Do the pre step.
  2. Do Step 1.
  3. Keep repeating Step 1 I/E cycle until the two and a half hour timer is up.
  4. Do fast step 3.
  5. Once you sold the MC Businesses then sell nightclub and you should be done for the day.
Simple Sightseer, Headhunter and Terabyte client mission cycle. (Best to do in an invite only session).
  1. Find a car and sell to Los Santos Customs.
  2. Start Headhunter.
  3. Do Terabyte client mission.
  4. Do Sightseer.
  5. Do Headhunter.
  6. Do Terabyte client mission.
  7. Do Sightseer.
  8. Do Headhunter.

AFK Solo Method.

What you'll need.
Steps for AFK solo method.
  1. Buy supplies for Bunker, Coke, Meth and Cash using the Master Control Terminal in the Arcade. With the Nightclub, set the five technicians to South American Imports, Cargo and Shipments, Pharmaceutical Research, Sporting Goods and Cash Creation first.
  2. Now start an easy contact mission in your apartment and go to the couch where the in game TV is and watch it. Once you sit down, then press the right D-Pad to make sure your watching the in game TV otherwise you may get kicked out due to idling or you could stay indoors and rubberband the right thumbstick so the camera moves in circles. Starting a contact mission and doing this AFK method means you won't pay utility bills and you cannot get raided, on top of that you won't lose any Nightclub popularity.
  3. Keep controller charging.
  4. Leave the console or PC on but turn off your real life TV or monitor your using to play the game. If your playing on you real life TV then you can change channels and watch what program you like.
  5. Do whatever you want outside the game such as school, work or whatever things you need to do, you can even leave your console/PC on overnight if you want.
  6. When your ready to comeback, turn your TV/monitor on and finish the contact mission. If South American Imports and Pharmaceutical Research is full then assign the two other technicians to Organic Produce and Printing and Copying since there's seven types of product and there's only five technicians to collect them assuming you bought all of the technicians. If South American Imports and Pharmaceutical Research isn't full yet then continue to AFK until they're filled up or you can also sell MC Businesses and Nightclub at this point if you want or otherwise continue to number 7.
  7. Once South American Imports and Pharmaceutical Research is finally full, set technicians to Organic Produce and Document Forgery. Start another easy contact mission to AFK again.
  8. Now once Organic Produce and Printing and Copying is filled up (takes 26.6 and 15 hours respectively to fill up), you can either sell the Bunker and MC Businesses or continue to AFK until Sporting Goods and Cargo and Shipments fill up. (Scroll up and follow step 3 or fast step 3 while selling the Bunker and MC Businesses).
  9. Repeat 1-6 or 1-8.
Additional AFK tips.

If board from doing the steps.

Grinding the same steps over and over again can get boring overtime.

An Americans first time playing in Britain

I am in London, England for the first time on business and craving some poker action. It should be pretty easy pickings because Europeans don't know how to gamble and I have played a lot of poker in America so am a real shark. We invented poker after all.
I take my sunglasses, XXXL 49ers vest and my World Series W.S.O.P. Poker cap out of my suitcase. Now I'm ready for action.
I arrive at the casino early evening and wander in to the poker room. I give the cashier $2K with my mlife card and he says I need to go to a different desk to do effects transactions. I don't know what he is talking about and tell him this is bullshit, eventually he stops arguing and gives me chips. I only tip him $1, what a jerk off.
I talk to the pit boss and say I'm here to play 5/10, he says 5/10 isn't running and doesn't run every night. I laugh, clearly people over here are poor and don't have the balls to gamble like they do back home. I say put me on the list for everything and order a whiskey and soda to get ready to play. Two minutes later a group of kids walk in and the pitboss tells me that 5/10 will probably start after all.
I sit down at 5/10 and realise the other 5 players are kids, the oldest must be mid 20s and two are clearly teenagers. Clearly they can tell I'm a shark from my cap and are here for some lessons from a REAL player.
First orbit I pick up KJ and call. Flop is T33. I raise, some British African American kid re-raises me, I know he doesn't have it so I re-re-re-raise him all in. He calls like a fish. Turn Q river 9. He shows A3 for a set of threes and I show him the bad news. I chuckle 'Don't go broke in a limped pot kid', and everyone at the table is laughing at him. What a jabroni. In one motion, every kid at the table adds more chips to their stack. Clearly they realise they will need more ammunition if they want to gamble at my table.
I have J5 and the board is J743A. Another kid bets river, I need to get a read so I turn over my cards and say 'can you beat this hand?' The dealer says this means I am folding, I tell him thats bullshit, thats not the rule in the home game in Bobbys basement back in Wyoming. The pit boss comes over and he just talks over me and tells me thats the rule here. Unbelievable, obviously they haven't learned what the real rules of poker are. I make a mental note to get Bobby to fax them a copy of his rule book so they can amend the rules in this dump.
Eventually I pick up cowboys and set the trap by just calling. Flop is T45, some kid bets 30, I make it 230 to see where I am at, he calls so I know I have him crushed. Turn 9 and I decide to trap by checking. He bets 250. I know he is bluffing so I push in my whole stack of 3k. The fucker calls immediately, he has 55 for trips, what a fucking slowroller. I sigh, how do the fish get so lucky. I could reload but I don't have any more dollars on me and anyway, its probably best to go back to the hotel before the Muslim patrols start. As I walk out the door I realise I left my cap at the table. When I go back to the table to retrieve it the table is empty which is pretty weird. I guess they moved the game to another area or something.
Overall a pretty disappointing experience, casinos don't know how to run poker games and there are no real players here. 4/10 Probably won't bother next time.

Ever want to take your group to Las Vegas?

Here is a 1-shot adventure I made, that could easily be fixed to suit any campaign! It comes complete with a whole town, some notable NPCs, some games to play while they are there, and a heist adventure if your players are keen!I playtested it with my group last Friday and they loved it :) Let me know what you think, or if you play it with your group!
The group has come to the bustling town of Everhaven, a massive stone city in the middle of nowhere outside of all lordly jurisdiction. What once was a safehaven for unlawful deeds, gangs and thieves and murder, has since become an incredible tourist attraction for upper-class citizens to feel the thrill of skullduggery with minimal risk (as well as those looking for an easy pocket to pick). With buildings stretching towards the sky engraved with immaculate relief decor along its pillars and archways; gold and jeweled accents; and magically enhanced lighting illuminating every corner, rooftop, and statue, the city of Everhaven is an overwhelming mecca of visual stimulation.You arrive at the main square, where hundreds of other carriages are dropping off persons of every shape and size. A large group of richly adorned dwarves with gems on every finger scramble out of a red velvet carriage and immediately begin arguing about which attraction to visit first. A few high elves laugh behind their hands, though their red cheeks reveal their obvious drunken state, while leaning against a statue of angels playing fanfare trumpets in every direction - light spewing out of the metal horns in a magical rhythmic dance into the sky above. To your right is a large stable run by a sturdy group of stablehands, who are keeping busy taking care of the myriad of animals being herded into the city with frantic efficiency. Leaning against the stables are a group of rough and unfriendly looking folks, scars streaking across their exposed skin and blades at their belts. If the group talks to them, or succeeds on a 12 PER check, these are mercenaries to be hired for protection for pickpockets. (use the thug statblock (mm pg 350) for 2 silver per day or veteran (mm pg 350) for 2 gold per day).Eventually, an overzealous male half-elf (Fenian, The Silver Song) approaches you, adorned with a sequin silver vest and small white lute. He wears a hat with bells that jingles incessantly as he strides up to greet you. He offers to give you a tour of the city, and he specializes in the grand jewel of the of Everhaven - The Clover. He asks for 10 silver for the regular tour, with the best-selling vocalization, or 20 silver for without music accompaniment.Anyone with a passive perception of 10 or less will at some point, if not multiple points, be pick pocketed during their stay unless they hired a guard.On the tour he points out the various mercenary groups along the way, and makes note of the major attractions. The group can also see these if they decline his services:
If the group is having enough fun just exploring - let them. Otherwise, if they make enough money or make enough of a ruckus, then a stranger will approach them with a plan too good to pass up.
This female purple-skinned tiefling (Marzas Alrozath) has a scar over one eye and is missing a few teeth, but is otherwise well kept and clean. Her hair is shaved in zigzag patterns on both sides and a ponytail at the back. She wears padded black leather, with various pockets sewn in. Her belt has too many coin purses. She takes you to the Pepper Parlour and pays for your meals “There is no better place to talk of such matters than in a room full of raucous pigs.” She explains that she is interested in working with you to break into The Clover’s vault. There is more money there than God knows what to do with. It is heavily guarded with too many traps. She heard from a good source that there is, however, a way around the majority of these hazards - a central access point to the subterranean cellars connecting all of Everhaven together. She knows it's somewhere in the middle of town, but hasn’t been able to find where yet. She asks you to seek it out, as she cannot do it herself as they have her records on file (she became a member years ago, and they have her spit to track her movement inside the casino. If the party is already members they have disadvantage on any stealth checks made while in the Clover. The secret entrance is underneath the Smiling Lady Statue through the mechanic's entrance)Alternatively, you can try and find someone in The Clover who has little loyalty to the company, or someone who knows the space well can help you? Perhaps a key, or a map, or intel on what awaits you? (Fenian the guide, Balor the server at The Clover's Bar, or Two-Teeth at the Houndgrave)
Map to the Clover's Staff Area (accessible through the far back of the casino) (one with traps, one without)
TRAPS: If any traps go off, make an additional stealth check for alerting the guards (except for Trap 4)
  1. Trip wire - PER 12 check to notice the wire, or DEX 12 save to avoid stumbling.
  2. Door trap - DEX 12 save. A heavy iron block falls on your head. Take 1 D6 damage you are Stunned for 1 minute, with disadvantage on any saving throws for 10 minutes.
  3. Door trap - DEX 12 save. A heavy iron block falls on your head. Take 1 D6 damage and you are Stunned for 1 minute, with disadvantage on any saving throws for 10 minutes.
  4. Huge metal locked door to the vault - PER 12 check to notice the trap. If door isn’t unlocked the right way, then a loud siren goes off and you are Deaf for 1 minute (alerts the guard immediately).
  5. Trip wire - PER 12 check to notice the wire, or Con 15 save or be be blinded for 1 minute
  6. The floor in this room is jiggly. Movement across the room sends nearby creatures bouncing into the air. A successful Intelligence (Investigation) or Intelligence (Arcana) check (DC 15) will grant knowledge of how the jelly floor acts. A Wisdom (Perception) check (DC 15) is required to notice the jelly floor. The walls themselves are slightly sticky, which allows you to walk across.The floor feels like hard stone when lightly touched touch, but while walking across the floor or if hit, it really jiggles. A creature, and any creature who is within 5 feet of them, who is walking across the floor is tossed 10 feet into the air, hits the ceiling and takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage.
  7. If you don’t approach the door from the walls or ceiling (aka you open it from the floor), sleep gas is emitted into the hallway. (DC 15 Wisdom saving throw)
  8. Motion sensor - If the door wasn’t opened correctly, then this automatically goes off. Dex save or else darts shoot from the corners, take 2D6 damage.
  9. Tripwire - PER 12 check to notice the wire, or 12 DEX save to avoid stumbling.
  10. Tripwire - PER 12 check to notice the wire, or spikes fly out from the group. Take 1 D10 piercing damage
  11. Pressure plates - PER 12 to notice the plate, or else the pressure plates release sticky slime to the ground which acts as difficult terrain and sticks to your feet for 1 minute after leaving the terrain.
CASINO GAMES (all Dealers / Game Masters have a DC 13 against sleight of hand checks) Lucky 7s - Roll 2D6. Players bet either over or under 7. Players can either double down or quit - pot then doubles until either the players cash out, they choose wrong, or a 7 is rolled. Once a 7 is rolled, the house wins.
Devil's Dice - Roll 3D6. Players pick a # between 1-6. If 0 of the dice match this number, the house wins. If 1 of the dice match, they win back their bet. If 2 match, they double their bet. If 3 match, they triple their bet.
High or Lower - Roll 2D6. Dealer shows 1 dice to player, and the player has to guess whether their sum is higher or lower than the Dealer's dice. Can double down, and then roles swap for who shows their dice first.
I tried making a few games that weren't just dice games, but also offered some role play elements.
Karaoke - Roll performance against the crowd's reaction. Roll 1D20 against the player's Performance (Player's have advantage if they perform a duet). Earn 1 gold for the difference between these rolls (ie: Player's rolled a 18 performance, DM rolled a 12. Players earn 6 gold)
Dunk the Drunk / Archery - Roll for a ranged attack. 10-15 earns back their bet. 15-20 earns double the bet. 20+ earns double the bet plus a special item (up to DMs discretion)
Hammer Strike - Simple enough - DC 15 Athletics wins double the bet.

Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms OR Fluffy's Birthday Party

Saturday, December 18th
I wake up and my back is fucking killing me. Megan closed the spa last night and she's quitting her (shitty) second job and her last day is Saturday so she's gone in early to get everything wrapped up and her exit interview. I decide to clean up my garage a bit and get some work done around the house. The morning starts off with some eggs and breakfast sausage with a tall glass of simply grapefruit. Life isn't great, but it could be a lot worse.
We are all having a little chat about life, weekends and women as I move charcoal and my dads tools around the garage when suddenly my good buddeh u/fluffy_butternut tells everyone that regular women are not damaged enough for me to enjoy. Not only is this HIGHLY insulting to me, but it reflects poorly on Megan as well.
rewind to several months before
Mrs. Fluffy emailed the whole reddit gang and told us we are invited to a surprise birthday party for the big guy. She gave us instructions/time/place, etc and everything. She did a TON of work to plan this and it shows. I was under the gun at the courthouse with a trial and I wasn't able to commit to the event and all of us have stuff going on so the odds of anyone being able to make it were not good. However, I kept her email, and her cell number on a burner.
cut to present
Did he really go there? He really went there. It's fucking on like Donkey Kong. I pull out a burner and send a message to Mrs. Fluffy asking her if the plans are still the same. She tells me when he will be arriving at the venue and I tell her I'm gonna make a big fucking scene. She is ecstatic at this idea.
I grab my packed bag from the closet and jump in the F350. I grab two organic bean to bar 88% endangered species chocolate bars for Megan and I stop by her work. She's busy, so I leave the chocolate for her at her station. I give her co-worker a note to hand to her when she gets out.
"Dear Megan, out for revenge. Back tomorrow - Will."
I start driving to MSY and traffic down I-10 isn't bad for a saturday. I phone Delta on the way there and book tickets for the flight. The only thing available is MD88 service connecting in Laguardia. In First. Being no stranger to the slightly elevated service and highly elevated price business model, I book the flight. I'm a little early so I make my way to the nearly brand new Delta Sky Club at MSY. It's new, the gumbo is tasty, the wifi is fast. Life isn't bad. Until I get the phone call from Megan.
Me: Hi sweetie
Megan: what the fuck does "out for revenge mean?"
Me: It means I'm out for revenge. I gotta do some things.
Megan: What things? We're supposed to have dinner with my brother tomorrow night!
Me: Uh. It's a long story. How was your exit interview?
Megan: It was fine. I'm leaving early today.
Me: Did you go back to your station yet?
Megan: No
Me: You should stop there again before you leave.
Megan: Why?
The airport PA screeches boarding announcement for my flight.
Me: They're calling my flight. I gotta run.
Megan: Flight? What?
Me: Gotta hop. Buy potatoes. See you tomorrow night!
I hang up and hightail it for the gate. I pop in and see the pilots before we leave and ask them what are the odds we get 31 via the expressway today. He says he was just loading it into the box. I tell him the last time I did 31 via the expressway into LGA at the Delta Museum sim, it was not good. In fact it was the worst thing to hit new york since a bunch of muslims on a tuesday in September. He laughs.
The ride into LGA is smooth as the HMG STG delivery schedule. New York is WINDY as fuck today and bumpy. I peer out the window of the left side of the plane and I get a beautiful close up photo of the statue of liberty and Ellis island. Wait. We're supposed to get 31 via the expressway. We should be on the localizer for LGA runway 4. That puts us right over my aunts place in Bay Ridge looking at the Verazanno. We're not getting 31, they're probably going to take us up over central park, back over da bronx and then in via 22.
Sure enough, we land on 22 and I ask the pilots what happened and they said the winds shifted and they had to turn the airport around. Eh, no biggie. I've seen it once, I'll see it again. It's a great approach to fly and if you ever get to experience it, it's fucking magical.
We land at LGA a few minutes late and the weather is cold, crisp and windy. I have a short connection but I head to the LGA sky club in terminal D. Life is good. I crack the laptop and do some work and as I close the laptop as they call my flight I see the very beginnings of light snow. I'm from Louisiana. I've never seen snow before. This scares me. I walk to the gate and I board in group 1 and take my first class seat. The plane is half empty. I walk up and chat with the pilots and they tell me that with the snow we are going to deice with type 1 fluid and anti ice with type 4 fluid. We will be a little delayed. As I gaze out the window from my seat, it's snowing and blowing even more.
Ten minutes later, the boarding door closes and we start to push back. Conditions have worsened significantly. We can't see the next plane in front of us, things have turned into not quite whiteout but very concerning to this southern boy. The pilots tell us we are number 3 for the deicing truck and I gaze out onto the runway.
It's whiter than an Ohio MAGA rally.
Fuck me to tears.
We deice as I check the weather in Pittsburgh. Rain/Freezing rain/Snow/wintry mix. I've never driven in snow. Fuck. Pucker factor increasing. I pull out my burner and send a message to Mrs. Fluffy and tell her I'm at the deice pad and will be there soon. We have a bumpy ride all the way across Pennsylvania and land about 30 minutes late. Hertz has me in the presidents circle but there is not a single car with local plates.
I downgrade to a 2020 white Toyota Corolla since it's the only thing with PA plates on it and I hightail it to the venue. I talk to the waitstaff and tell them I'm crashing the party and ask them to get me a tray and a vest with a nametag. The staff is laughing their ass off at my idea. I message Mrs. Fluffy and she thinks the idea is HYSTERICAL. She can't wait. I tell her I'll be there at 645.
T minus 60 minutes until Fluffy Arrival
I've never been to this part of Pennsylvania. To be honest, I am a Philly guy. The people there are angry, drunken, profane and love cheese steaks. They're my kind of people. I've never been to a Sheetz or Primanti Brothers. However, fluffy tells me some stories about how he and his wife have a good time over at the meadows. I have NEVER been to a racino before, and ever since I was nearly arrested at Wynn Las Vegas - I've been a little scared. However, it's just down the road and as some of you know, I just came into a shit ton of money.
This is not going to end well.
I drive down interstate 79 and whip into the north parking garage at The Meadows.
My pre-packed bag has four days of clothes, underwear, socks and PJ's, two kruggerands and $10,000 in cash just in case i need to flee the country. I pull out the ten dimes and make my way into the racino. The Meadows is HUGE. I get past the security checkpoint and walk around and I don't see any table games. I see a large well appointed poker room and see two craps tables working at the other end of the hall. I have no idea what table limits or odds are.
I saunter up to the table.
Me: How's the temperature guys?
Degen1: Eh it's up and down.
Me: As long as it's not as cold as outside amirte?
Degen2: haha yeah yinz been outside today? freezing rain and that!
Me: I don't know these words but whatever.
The point is on 6.
I drop $10,000 on the table.
Me: Change only. Gimme 1 small and 9 thousands.
Pit Boss: do you have a players club card?
Me: never played here before, don't worry about it for now.
Pit Boss: Okay!
The dice come out, it hits jimmy hicks and the dealers pay out all the bets. I look at the table, the minimums are $5 and everyone has pass line and numbers. NOBODY has true odds. Fuck it. Time to show them how it's done.
I drop $10 on the pass line.
Dice are out. Point is four. I look up and down the table and nobody is making odds bets. I look down at my rack and drop $100 behind my bet.
Dice come out. Six hard.
Me: Hey pit boss! How much can I put behind the line?
Pit Boss: We'll let you go to 10x, so we can take $100 on your pass line. It looks like you got $100 there but we'd count it out and if you were over we'll give you the extra back.
Me: solid, thanks!
I look down at my watch. Fluffy is due to arrive at 1900hrs. I told Mrs. I would be there at 1845. It's 15 minutes to drive from the garage to the party which means I need to be on the highway at 1830 which means I need to be out of the casino and cashed out and walking to the garage by 1825. She sends me a message asking me where I'm at. I tell her I'm at the meadows and.....fuck it's 1821.
Fuck it. Go big or go home.
I take my pass line up to $500 and shove $5000 behind the line. Everyone at the table is looking at me funny. I give $2400 to the dealers and tell them to split me the 6/8.
Pit Boss: are you SURE you don't want a players club card?
Me: no time! throw them bones!
The whip slides the dice over to the fella next to me. He throws.
Dealer: Four hard, four the hard way, four.
Everyone at the table is looking at me funny. My $500 pass line bet has paid even money. The $5000 behind the line pays true odds on a 4, at 2:1. I look down at my watch. 1829. The dealers are stacking and distributing chips with a fervor.
Me: Take down my 6/8 and color me up.
Dealer: You got it boss!
As they color up my chips, I tell Mrs. fluffy I just won a ton of money at the meadows and I'm cashing out now. I take a $100 chip, hold it up and ask if the dealers want to play it or drop it
Dealer: It's up to you man, we don't mind.
I plant the chip down on the pass line and tell them put half on the pass line ferda boys, drop the other half. They all LITERALLY clap and thank me.
Me: One more thing, where's the cashier?
They point me to the cage with the aplomb of a new airport ramper. I leave the casino with a giant wad of cash bulging in my jeans. There's no line and they count out all my cash quickly. I look down at my watch as she's counting out the last of the small bills. 1835.
Fuck. I'm going to be late. I hate being late. I jog out to the north garage and hightail it back up interstate 79.
I have never driven in snow, at night, or for that matter driven in Pennsylvania before until now. It's snowing, it's dark, the speed limit is 55 and I am the SLOWEST guy in the right lane at 80 and people are passing me going WTF ARE YOU DOING GET OFF THE ROAD judging by the horns and the flashing headlights. I am HAULING ass back up to the venue and I park the Toyota in a handicapped spot as I race into the venue. I find Harriet, the party planner she hands me a vest with a nametag.
My transition from Will the gun dealer to Mario the waiter will completed as soon as he arrives. I get fluffy's favorite drink and a plate of some food set up on a tray and I hide in the back waiting for his arrival. Here's a photo. https://imgur.com/yZP2FuI
As if it were choreographed to the minute, Mrs. Fluffy walks him in the front door at 7PM to a room full of people as a birthday surprise. He had not seen it coming. He begins making the rounds seeing everyone and saying hello. It's a big party so it takes some time. I hang back for a few minutes and let him do his thing and I give my phone to one of his friends and tell them to get this next part on video as I put on the vest and adjust the nametag.
Friendo: Sure thing "mario"
Me: shut up and just do some good camera work!
I take the tray of beverage and minature charcuterie plate over to fluffy as he's greeting the party guests and sneak up behind him. He's taking his grand old time working the room. In my best italian Pittsburgh native accent I can muster, I'm holding the tray and I walk in front of him and put on a great big smile.
Me: Can I get yinz something to drink? Or some charcuterie and that?
Fluffy: .......
(I now feign anger)
Fluffy: What.....are you.........doing here?
Me: Mrs told us about it and I figured I should give you a hard time after your comments this morning. Would you like some food? You know, airplane noises make the food taste better. Or are you a little too old for that? Lets give it a try!
(I grab a carrot stick and fly it into his face by making very loud airplane noises in a ballroom full of fluffy's closest friends and family making a gigantic scene with people wondering is this a joke or what horrors are about to come next. No, this is not a joke, this really happened. Ask anyone who was there.)
Fluffy: I'm good thanks
Me: you sure? (more airplane noises followed by a carrot slice raping his mouth)
Fluffy is shocked and awed. I tell him to go work the room and to have a happy birthday party. There's an open bar and I help myself to a double ginger ale, neat.
I find some millennials and we chat about Hawaiian shirts and stuff and they think my comedy is HILARIOUS. Unlike most of reddit. Fluffy saunters over and we chat some more and he's wondering WTF. I told him the wife planned it all months in advance.
Fluffy: You know u/xxxwirtydhorexxx is here.
Me: That's really funny.
Fluffy: No, he's really here.
Me: Bullshit. Then where is he?
Fluffy: He's right in front of you, 12 o'clock.
I don't see him. Then I look down and there's a guy in a boonie hat. I didn't recognize him without the dress.
Me: Oh dear god. He's really here isn't he?
Wirty gets up and walks over and he's like HI! I THOUGHT IT WAS YOU!
We have a bunch of really really awkward conversation that involves him inviting me to sit next to him and me running over to Mrs. Fluffy asking her to save me from wirty. She finds a spot at her table by her kids for me.
I forget his present, even though his wife said no presents and there's a table full of booze, scratchers, and gun stuff. I drive back up to the hotel to grab it and give it to him. He has no idea what it is. You all should ask him about it. I give it to him and Wirty starts complaining about normies.
Fluffy: Where are you staying?
Me: The Hilton just down the street
Fluffy: Oh, the one on the top of the hill?
Me: That's why it's the HILL-ton.
Everyone groans. Me and wirty talk and he weirds me out and demands to stand next to me in the group photo. I tell more jokes and the millenial group loves me. We close the place down and head back to fluffy's hotel.
BOY HOWDY LET ME TELL YOU.........if you thought MY stories were longwinded and pointless you have not met some of fluffy's friends! His local raconteur buddy was telling us at 145AM his story about being fucked by the Virginia state police for speeding. Yeah. I dump him off at his hotel and I head back up to my room. It's 3AM by the time I shower and sleep.
My alarm wakes me up at 9AM. My back is killing me. My head is pounding. It's 21 degrees outside. Fuck this noise. I go back to sleep.
The hotel phone rings.
Me: Go for Hayden
Operator: I have a fluffy butternut on the phone for you.
Me: Go ahead and connect us
Operator: Thank you
(sound of dial tone)
I'm not making this up. I grab my phone and call fluffy and we have brunch at the meadows with the mrs. It's fun, we talk guns, life, liberty and the pursuit of extra sides of marinara.
I hang out with them at the slot machines until it's time to head to the airport. I gas up at the sheetz next to the racetrack and I fly back home in coach since my status on delta is radioactive dirt. The incoming flight is late from Atlanta which means we leave late for Atlanta and i get back home 2.5 hours later than I expected.
Laundry is running and I am unpacking as Megan walks in the door.
Me: Hi!
Megan: Hi. Back from revenge so soon?
Me: Yeah. I'm actually late. How was dinner with your brother?
Megan: Good. He took me to olive garden. So tell me what was so important you had to go out for revenge and come back the next day?
(I tell her the story)
Megan: Wait a minute. Your friend insulted you as a joke, so you bought a last minute first class ticket to new york and pennsylvania to fly to his surprise birthday party to yell at him in person, in january in 21 degree weather?
Me: Yeah.
Megan: Why would you do that?
Me: Well he said that you're damaged goods. He wasn't insulting me, he was insulting you. I didn't like that.
Megan: You cannot be serious.
Me: I am serious.
Megan: and don't call you Shirley?
Me: You're weird.
Megan: I'm not the one that just flew across the country to go "out for revenge", and I'm the weird one?

[Hiring] Pokemon Art for Tiny Twitch Stream [Digital] Main Piece, four/five badges.

Thanks to all who applied, this is my second time commissioning something and you are all talented as fuck. I definitely have a place to go to next time to get amazing art from you all! <3
Hello! I am looking for an artists to do some art for my Twitch Stream (www.twitch.tv/damiendarkside, my banner was made by another artist). I'm not massive, I just want to be the best I can be while having fun and I've finally come up with some branding/themes. All SFW.
I am looking mainly for an artist that can do Pokemon specifically, but other game art might be included but that can be discussed more for your interests/abilities and skill. Deep saturated colors like royal purple, cherry red, and emerald greens due to a Casino theme, so not a lot of "pastel" like colors.
Budget is $75 USD, can do more wiggle room if in Canadian Dollars (or somewhat equivalent like AUS) due to the CAD/USD rates and me being a Canadian. I'll use the higher currency.
Main Piece: Offline Background
Gardevoir from Pokemon, top half close up on either side, wearing a dealer's outfit (black vest and white blouse) with her right/left hand raised as to gesture to a blank area for me to put in my stream times. She will be leaning on a table with a "Welcome!" sign, a drink, and maybe a small stack of card packs. No complex backgrounds at all
So I'd like four or five Poker chips, all of them the same shape and size (So you can copy/paste and use the circle tool to make a template for all four pieces). They will be for donations/tips given.
The four poker chips will represent the four suits of cards, so Diamonds, Clubs, Hearts, and Spades on their own piece. Each with a color. Each piece will be a Pokemon (Gardevoir, Lucario, Blaziken, Absol) and if you'd like to toss in a Gardevoir recolor (making Gardevoir her shiny colour, no other changes) for a discount as the "Ace of Spades" special icon I'll pay for it as well. I would like to use the poker chip template as my avatar as well with your permission.
Time table very flexible. I live in PST Time Zones. Not urgent but I'm excited :P

Star Citizen Immersive Story Mission Brainstorm

Once SC is fleshed out a bit more and we have a few systems in the game, I think that lack of mission content will be the main issue. Don't get me wrong, I know they will have tons of missions, and with procedural generation also, there will be a ton of content. My worry is that there's only so many ideas out there, and there's so much room, and a lot of missions may end up feeling repetitive.
With this post, I'd like to invite everyone to brainstorm mission/mission chain ideas that would fit in the game. Let’s leave off missions that are 1-off, simple “go here and get x”, and let’s try to think of longer missions/chains that can possibly take up multiple play sessions. Specifically, I’d like to come up with some story-driven missions that are unique and engaging. Missions should typically have specific criteria for initiating, based on profession(s), reputation, and ship ownership, etc. These missions should tend to be relatively rare, so players will be very excited when they get these. To make it easier to read/organize, let's try to use a standardized format, which I'll give some examples of.
Mission Name: Wayward
Mission Type: Search/Rescue
Requirements/Prerequisites: Bounty Hunter, Merc, info runner. Multi-crew ship
Supplemental Requirements: (certain parts of the mission or outcomes only apply if met): Constellation or larger ship.
Mission Rewards: UEC, Possible NPC hire
Mission Details:
Note: All names are placeholders.
The player is given a contact from any number of NPC mission-givers, or intercepts a message, or from a random encounter. Either way, the player contacts the family who tells the player that their son (let’s call him John) has gone missing. The family is very wealthy and has received a ransom message from a pirate organization (Blackbeard) in a nearby lawless system. The family asks you to return their son, either by force or by brokering the deal to pay the ransom. The family has a family friend/business contact in the system in question, and sets up the meet.
Player flies to the system in question and goes to a truck stop to meet the contact (Tom) at a bar. The contact is less than helpful, and says that he can’t really do much to help you find Blackbeard, as Blackbeard usually finds you. Some time later, the player is approached by someone who asks what Tom had spoken to them about. If the player tells, the person reveals themselves as an Advocacy agent, investigating the pirate organization. The player can ask why they are watching Tom, to which the Advocate says that Tom is actually secretly working for Blackbeard, and to be careful because all is not what it seems. The Advocate has been trying to track down Blackbeard for some time.
Player can now choose to follow Tom, hack his data pad, or confront him. If you follow Tom, you’ll eventually overhear a sinister conversation about Tom having dropped “the boy” on a nearby planet in a remote area. If you hack his data pad, you’ll find a message from Blackbeard asking him to deliver John to the same location. If you’re discovered doing either, he’ll attack you and a bunch of pirate goons will come after you, but the Advocate will come out of nowhere to back you up. If you confront him, he’ll attack you with the same result. If the player kills Tom, the Advocate goes through his data pad to discover a message from Blackbeard. If you do nothing, eventually Tom will radio you and tell you that he set up a meet and give you the coordinates.
Depending on your reputation, the Advocate may or may not choose to accompany you as you chase down this lead. If you killed Tom, you’ll be randomly interdicted by Blackbeard’s pirates at least once upon the way, and/or upon arriving in orbit.
As you approach the location, if you killed Tom, you’ll get shot at from AA turrets/ground vehicles and small arms. If you did not kill Tom, you’ll have the option of bribing the guy at the landing pad to let you land. If the former, you’ll need to fight your way into the compound and you’ll eventually find a computer terminal with a dozen coordinates and codenames next to them. You’ll also eventually get to a cage containing a few slaves that you can choose to free. They’ll tell you they saw Tom bring John in to see Blackbeard and Mike (another boss). Then they’ll tell you they overheard a location that is one of the codewords.
If you didn’t kill Tom, you’ll have the option of talking to Mike, who is at the compound (although you can just fight too). You can try to negotiate to secure John’s release peacefully (i.e. pay the ransom). If successful, you can call the family and ask them to send you the money for the ransom. Mike will then hop on board your ship with a couple of other pirates (if multi-crew and you have space), or quantum link with you and jump to the coordinate you would have found above.
You come out of QT and enter an asteroid belt. If you killed Tom, you’ll get attacked at least once while heading to the coordinates. Upon arrival you’ll also get shot at by hidden defenses. If not, Mike will radio in your approach so you can land.
Either you fight your way in, or you get escorted in. If you fought, eventually you’ll come to the “throne room” where you’ll see Blackbeard holding a gun to John’s head. He’ll tell you to call the family and demand the ransom. If you comply, the family transfers the money to you, which you can then choose to transfer to Blackbeard (if not, and you keep it, family puts out a bounty on you). You can also try to headshot Blackbeard. If unsuccessful, Blackbeard will shoot John, you fail, and the family is super mad. If you didn’t fight, same situation, same choices once you get to the room.
If you pay the ransom and didn’t kill Tom, Blackbeard will lower his gun and let John go. John will then reveal that he doesn’t want to go with you, and the whole thing was a big scam. John wasn’t kidnapped, he ran away from home and joined Blackbeard. Blackbeard had John prove his loyalty by demanding that his rich family pay a large ransom, and John/Tom played along for the $. If you killed Blackbeard, John will try to kill you in revenge.
If you killed Tom or Mike, and you pay the ransom, Blackbeard will try to kill you anyway in revenge. John will stay out of the way since you’re acting in self defense. If you’re able to kill Blackbeard, John will say he didn’t like that Blackbeard backstabbed you after an easy deal was done. He’ll say he ran away from being sheltered, and had wanted to see the Universe. Tom had offered to hook him up with Blackbeard’s outfit, which he did, but now he has nowhere left to go. You’ll recover the ransom money. John will ask you to let him keep the money so he can buy his own way. You can do that, or keep it, or call the family. You can encourage John to talk to his family and explain what he did. You’ll can either tell them you’re keeping the ransom + your fee, tell them you’ll give John the ransom, or say you’ll return it. In any case, John makes it clear to his family he will not be coming home, but if you’re a bounty hunter, you can subdue him and haul him back by force, or let him make his own choices.
If you let him go and offer to return the ransom, the family will say you seem like a good person, and let you keep half. John will also say that he thought it was pretty cool of you to do all you did, and that you seem like you live a life of excitement. He’ll ask if you’d be willing to take him on as crew only if you have a Connie or larger ship and have room. You can accept or decline, and his skills depend on your profession.

Once you have the data pad, you can’t break the encryption. If you don’t go to Jane, you’ll be attacked periodically as long as you have the pad. If you go to Jane, she’ll tell you she works for Redbeard’s pirate org and decrypt the data and discover that it’s an attack plan and list of assets/convoy times and routes of Redbeard’s org and has the names of some ships assigned to attack them from a rival organization, Hook’s Crew.
She’ll thank you and tell you a bit about Redbeard’s org and their rival, Hook’s Crew as she walks toward her ship on the landing pad. She’ll say the two orgs have been in a “cold war” and a few a skirmishes over turf were inevitable in the system, but that this was a huge escalation. She needs to get this info back to Redbeard, right away. Right as she steps on the landing pad, her ship blows up, but she survives. Things are now super-serious, and she needs a ride, so she asks you to take her if you have a multi-crew ship and room (if not, she puts out a service beacon for travel, and once she arrives at Redbeard’s lair on a different planet in the system, she sends you the coordinates to meet her).
You take/meet Jane at the outpost that serves as Redbeard’s base, and go inside. Jane introduces you to Redbeard and tells him what happened. He tells you his organization mostly profits off of smuggling, merc contracts, catch and release/protection, and patrolling the system and taking tolls/”taxes” from freighters for that protection. So he explains that it’s not as bad as a lot of people think. He says that you’ve been very helpful in bringing the info to him, and he’d like you to do a job for him. The next job will depend on your profession (Redbeard/Jane will contact you at some time after completing one of the following for additional work).
Trader: He’ll say that your ship is perfect because it’s the same as a ship that they know is delivering a shipment of intercoolers to a Hook’s Crew base on a planet in the same system. He sends you off with Jane and an escort to ambush the enemy transport (it will be the same ship as you) and your job is to help destroy the enemy ship and take its cargo. Once you have the cargo - a bunch of ship components, Jane will sabotage it and then you’ll deliver the cargo to Hook’s base.
Miner: Redbeard tells you that Hook’s base regularly gets shipments of freshly mined ore of . You need to mine a sufficient quantity and then Jane will contaminate it and have you deliver it.
Transport: Jane no longer has a ship, so he has you fly her to a dealership one system over to buy a used ship. You get robbed by some street gang while on your way and have to either fight them off of follow them to get the UEC back to buy a ship. There will be several ship options and she’ll ask you what you think (variants of Cutlass, Freelancer, Vanguard, Valkyrie, etc.) You’ll also get interdicted at least once on the way.
Exploration: Redbeard has been trying to find Hook’s secret headquarters. He tells you it’s in an asteroid bent, you now have to find it and avoid detection/destruction to get the info back to him. Once you find it, Redbeard says he’s going to plan for the day that they assault the station.
RepaiSalvage/Medical: Redbeard strikes back at a base of Hook’s on a moon in the system. As you arrive and you watch the battle, which then turns into a ground battle. Redbeard’s crew eventually wins and you are there to salvage destroyed ships, repair Redbeard’s damaged ones, or rescue and give medical aid to his crew that were wounded. If you complete repair or medical mission, the other becomes unavailable. The salvage mission takes place after the battle.
Info: Redbeard has you watch the mining operations of Hook in the nearby belt. When you arrive, there’s a Terrapin scanning for minerals, two Prospectors mining, and a Connie on guard. After collecting the necessary info from the Terrapin, suddenly several ships jump in and attack the mining group. You can hide or run, and once it’s over, you call Jane to deliver the info, and tell her she should have told you that they were going to attack the mining operation, as it endangered you. She’s surprised and denies responsibility, but admits that Redbeard may have done it without telling her, and he’s the captain.
Smuggling: Redbeard’s crew captured a smuggler who told them that Hook has been looking for a digital access key to the computer systems of a nearby security station in the system. The smuggler was supposed to pick it up at a casino and tells you how to get it, in exchange for his life. Since the contact doesn’t know who is coming to get the access key, Redbeard gives you cash and you go to the casino, and Jane is on the radio in your ear getting instructions from the smuggler. You sit down at a specific blackjack table, order a 24-year single-malt scotch with exactly two ice cubes (as instructed) and play a couple of hands, betting minimum. After a couple of hands another guy sits at the table and says a “pass-phrase” greeting, and you return the correct response (as coached by Jane). You chat and play another 2 hands, then get two face cards on your next hand. The dealer busts, and the other guy has a “2” showing, and he stays. Jane instructs you to bet the amount for the access key and hit (you can stay and win, or bet the wrong amount, but if you do, you blow the deal). If you do, you bust and the other guy wins the money takes the chips. He reaches into his pocket and flips you a cheap chip and says to buy a drink cause you need it. Jane tells you to leave the casino, and when you inspect the chip, you find a small access key inside. You have to now smuggle the key out of customs and get back onto your ship, and then fly to meet Hook’s contact in a city on a nearby planet/moon. You stop on the way and meet Jane, and bring the chip to her ship. She copies the key and then infects the original with malware that allows her access to the systems it’s used in. You resume your trip to meet Hook’s contact, and security forces may or may not interact and you have to make sure they don’t find the key. Once you land, you have to smuggle it past customs again, and then on your way to meet Hook’s contact, you get cornered by 2 people who demand you turn over the key. If you give it to them, they leave. If you try to fight them, they’ll take you out and you wake up in a med bay. Either way, you return to Redbeard empty-handed. He’s pissed and Jane wants to take it out on the smuggler, but Redbeard reminds her that he’s been in their jail cell the whole time and held up his end of the bargain, and there’s honor among thieves, so he lets him go. Afterward, Jane tells Redbeard that they should have killed the smuggler, and he’s going to tell Hook that we stole the key. You remind them that we still have the copy we made, and that the original was infected with spyware, so when they plug it into a system we’ll know.
Science: There’s an assassination attempt on Redbeard, but he survives. The would-be killer manages to escape, but leaves behind some evidence that you can uncover and examine. You discover that the assassin is not actually with Hook’s Crew, and suspect that he may have been the one to blow up Jane’s ship. You then travel to where you met Jane and examine the wreckage for clues. You find bomb residue that indicates another group, the Black Hand - a criminal network that works in the background the next system over, is responsible. Did Hook hire an outside group for plausible deniability?
Racing: Hook has sponsored some douchebag racer and Redbeard wants you to beat him, so he sponsors your in the race. Hook’s racer will play dirty and cheat, but your job is to beat him anyway. Right before the finish line, Hook’s racer will get fired on by a hidden AA turret and destroyed. Afterward, two of Hook’s men will come to beat you up, saying that you and Redbeard fixed the race. When you deny knowing about the turret, they’ll say that a massive bet was placed on you just before the race started. Jane will save your ass from getting killed by Hook’s thugs, and when you two talk to Redbeard he swears he had no idea about the turret.
Bounty: Redbeard wants you to hunt down the assassin who tried to kill Jane (and him, if you’ve done the above science mission. If so, you can use clues from that mission to help this one). You look at security footage, chase down leads, talk to people that saw the guy, and eventually pick up a trail and discover he’s an assassin from the Black Hand, a criminal network that dominates the next system over. Eventually, you track the guy down, and you capture him. He refuses to talk, and you take him back to Redbeard’s so he and Jane can question him. They ask him why Hook hired outside assassins to do his dirty work and the assassin doesn’t answer. After Redbeard questions him and gets no answers, the assassin breaks out of his handcuffs, pulls a hidden knife out and goes for Redbeard. Jane shoots him dead.
Pirate or Merc (only becomes available after 2 other, above missions): Redbeard wants you to retaliate against Hook by raiding an important convoy. He’ll dispatch a small fleet of ships that you’ll QT with and ambush the convoy. The enemy convoy will have 2 Caterpillars, a Hammerhead, a Polaris, and several fighters. Redbeard’s fleet will be pretty evenly matched, and your job is to tip the scale. After you repairefuel/rearm, you’ll get an urgent message from Jane saying that Redbeard’s HQ is under attack by Hook’s forces. You QT in ASAP and fight another battle in atmo neaabove Redbeard’s compound. Hook’s ground forces move in also and you can engage them at the same time from the air, in a vehicle, or on foot. Several of Hook’s men have stormed the compound and you’ll lead the team to drive them out. When you get to the “throne room” you’ll help Redbeard and Jane fight off Hook’s forces.
After completing the first mission, it will unlock all the others, but you must have an appropriate ship to complete it. After completing 3 missions, you’ll get an option to do a mission to attack Hook’s headquarters in the asteroid belt (if you didn’t do the exploration mission, Redbeard get the location from another source). You can choose to complete more, some of which tell more of the story, and some of which also help destabilize some of Hook’s forces. There could be faulty ship components (trader mission), bad armor due to contaminated ore (miner mission), missing a ridiculously good pilot (racer), or extra ships/people (medical or repair).
Redbeard leads an all-out assault on Hook’s base. If you don’t have a combat ship, you’ll be assigned to one of Redbeard’s ships on the turret. If you did the Transport mission, you can choose to either fly or turret in Jane’s ship. Hook has an Idris, a Polaris, two Hammerheads, a few Connies, and several BuccaneeFreelancer-class ships, as well as 10-20 fighters. Redbeard has an Idris, a Polaris, Hammerhead, and a similar number of small to mid-size ships, plus a few bombers like the Tali. The fight will end a few seconds after the first capital ship on either side is lost. If Redbeard’s fleet loses the capship first, Redbeard will tell you and Jane to get down to the base and take out Hook, and you leave the battle with a small team and land on the base. If Hook loses a capship first, his fleet retreats and your ground team assaults the base.
You’ll fight your way into the base and eventually make it to Hook’s control room. Right before you enter, - if you did the smuggler mission, Jane will say that someone is using the access key, and she’s trying to get a fix on their location. When you enter, you find Hook behind bulletproof glass and if you did the Smuggler mission, the smuggler will be with Hook. Hook will ask why Redbeard tired of the relative peace and status quo they had enjoyed dividing vice in the system. You’ll say “You attacked first.” He’ll be confused and deny that he ordered or had a hand in any of the attacks against Redbeard, his crew, or you, other than in retaliation for when you attacked him unprovoked. He’ll then accuse Redbeard of trying to kill him and attacking numerous times. After a long conversation, you’ll both come to the conclusion that you’ve been played (conversations dependent on which missions you did prior to this). Jane will radio in and tell you that the access key’s location and computer system it’s plugged into has been identified as being in the next system over, connected to the Black Hand. Hook orders his fleet to stand down, and asks Redbeard to do the same. They meet and figure out that the Black Hand has been playing them against each other. They agree that even though they’re not friends, that they should work together to go after the Black Hand.
They ask you do start investigating the Black Hand in the next system over, identifying operatives, finding base locations, assets, details about their operations, etc. - anything that will help them in their fight. You get a large amount of UEC for completing the mission, as well as access to Redbeard’s bases, shops, people, etc., as your reputation with Redbeard’s faction is significantly increased. There will be a couple of mission givers for odd jobs, and it will unlock the missions to go after the Black Hand later.
There may be multiple players doing missions along this chain, and there will be an equal and opposite mission chain for Hook’s faction, so it will often bring players into conflict. There will also be pirate/merc specific missions for the Black Hand that tie into this conflict (must have requisite reputation), but a player can only get one of the three factions’ missions.

2 teams: Protection or Kill/Capture
Protection team: If you’re a Merc or Personal Transport, with good reputation and lawfulness, you’ll be contacted by an Advocacy member. They tell you that they have a witness in a high profile case against a company executive of a large company based in the system. The case is dependent on the testimony of, and evidence given by a witness. The Advocate asks you to pick the witness up, and keep them safe until the Advocate can complete their investigation and get the witness scheduled to testify. They also give you a VIP armor vest to help keep him safe.
You go to a station in the system and go to the hab you were given by the official. You open the door to a guy holding a gun in your face, and you explain that you’re there to protect them. His room is completely trashed, and he tells you that someone must have come in and turned it over. After convincing him you’re there to help, he tells you his name is James, and that he’s a financial analyst for the Umbrella Corporation, but he won’t tell you anything until you get him out of there, and he’s super scared. You take him to your ship and get out of dodge (it is possible to be attacked on the way).
Note: Once on your ship, James will wear the VIP armor vest at all times. This will make him somewhat resistant to body-shots, but still very vulnerable to headshots.
Once on board you can talk to him and learn his story. Recently a large convoy of Acme, Co. Starfarers was en route to resupply the the truck stops in the system. They never arrived at their first stop, he did confirm that they were last seen entering the system at the jump point in. After the Starfarers never showed up, James noticed that Umbrella had moved a huge amount of fuel into the depot in the system, raised their prices drastically, and also put in a huge short on Acme’s stock the day before the convoy was due to arrive. He says that he believes that Umbrella Corporation operatives attacked them, and then covered it up. He tried to report this to some of the Umbrella executives, but they said he was crazy and promptly fired him. He reported it to the police, but he thinks they were paid off and won’t do anything.
He was contacted by the Advocate and told they would investigate, but wouldn’t be able to do much without more evidence. James told the Advocate that he felt his life was in danger, especially after his hab was tossed (whoever it was took his financial records, and all the evidence) so the Advocate, worrying about people in witness protection being bribed like the local police, asked you to look after him.
James will then ask you to help him collect evidence. If you refuse and just want to keep him safe, some time will pass and if you’ve been able to keep him safe, you’ll get a mission to take him to the Advocate at a courthouse hearing. If you keep him safe and get him there, the hearing will commence, he’ll testify, but the executives will not get charged with any crimes due to lack of evidence. James then turns down a dark road, and eventually becomes a terrorist hellbent on bringing down Umbrella and you. At some point in the future, he’ll plant a bomb on your ship and blow it up.
If you agree and help him gather evidence, the mission chain becomes much more dangerous. In one mission branch you can go look for the convoy’s wreckage, by talking to a salvager to get the likely location (they will tell you they find the wreckage of ambushed ships there all the time, and it’s a likely interdiction spot). You’ll need to pay them for the info, then head there and start scanning till you find it. Once you find it, you’ll need to secure the black box of one of the 3 Starfarers.
At some point (not when you’re at the wreckage area), the Advocate will call you and ask you to check on a lead. The surveillance systems on one of the moons in the system pinged one of the people on the manifest of one of the Starfarers. If you travel to talk to the survivor, he’ll tell you that they were attacked and he escaped in an escape pod. He says that they didn’t take any prisoners, and didn’t make any demands, and didn’t try to steal any of the cargo - they just destroyed everything. Why would they do that unless they would gain some other way? The survivor says he’ll lay low and wait for your the court hearing.
James will also suggest breaking into the company that does Umbrella’s finances and stealing the records. There’s a building on the planet that you picked James up on that you can go into to and try to sneak your way in. Definitely a stealth-focused mission, as you don’t want to hurt anyone you don’t have to, but you can also do non-lethal takedowns, to get in and out with the records. They corroborate what James said about the suspiciously-timed short-sale and price gouging.
Keep in mind that you can be attacked at any time on any of these mission branches by both NPC’s and players doing the opposing mission chain, if they are able to find you.
If you’re unsuccessful in securing additional evidence, the case is dismissed by the court. James goes down a dark path and becomes a terrorist, hellbent on bringing down Umbrella. He won’t target you, though, if you tried to get the evidence, but just failed - he doesn’t blame you.
If you’re able to secure one additional piece of evidence (black box, survivor, financials), and successfully bring James to the hearing, the case will get dismissed due to not enough evidence. If you have two, the case will move forward, and one of the executives will be blamed and scapegoated by the rest of the Umbrella board, and that executive will be convicted and sentenced successfully. Once you leave the area, James will call to thank you, but during the call, a bomb will go off and kill him.
If you get all three pieces of evidence and deliver James, the entire board will start blaming each other, and all of them will get charged. James is safe, and justice is done. The judge will order that they pay massive amounts of restitution to Acme Co. and the families of the people who were in the convoy. One of the board members, to cut a deal and get less prison time, gives up the names of the pirates that Umbrella hired to destroy the convoy. This spawns several additional Bounty missions.
While James is under your protection, you can order him to follow you or stay on the ship. If he stays on the ship and you leave, he can still be attacked by players doing the opposing mission chain. Delivering James successfully gives the base UEC reward to the completing player, but each piece of evidence gathered increases the amount substantially.
Kill/Capture team: You’re contacted by an Umbrella executive, promising a huge payday for the successful kill/capture of James. You’ll get more for capturing (only available if you have a bounty hunter ship), and if you successfully capture and deliver James at any point, they will pay James off to keep silent about what he knows, and the mission ends and you get your payday. If at any point you kill James successfully, you’ll get your somewhat lower payday. Every piece of evidence that you’re able to eliminate (find and destroy the black boxes from the wreckage, eliminate the survivor or pay him off, find the financial records and destroy them), your pay increases substantially.
The executive will tell you where James lives (the hab that the protection team picks him up from) and set a beacon for you. This does not happen until the protection player(s) make contact with James. The executive also gives you the location of the wreckage and the location of the financial records to eliminate. He’ll call you as soon as the Advocate gets finished telling the Protection team about the lead on the survivor, giving you a chance to eliminate him as well. The executive says that he’s also hired other mercs to go after James, so you’ve got competition. Any time NPC mercs encounter and attack the protection team, you’ll get an update on the new location of James.
